Anaesthetisinggel(Sterile Single Administration)

Description :
• regionally anaesthetising gel with lidocaine
• and the disinfecting agent chlorhexidine

Transparent - Water-soluble
Ideal for Single- handed Application
Aspiration of Urine Possible

100 g contain: 2 g lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.05 g chlorhexidinedihydrochloride

Properties and mechanism of action
Cathejell with lidocaine contains a sterile, water-soluble, colourless, clear jelly for intra-urethral instillation.
Lidocaine hydrochloride has a regionally anaesthetising effect.
An admixture of stabilisers is not required, as Cathejell is autoclaved. The base of the break-off tip is sunk in the application cone so that kinking does not lead to sharp edges.

Instillation into the urethra before the introduction of a catheter or other instruments

The content of one syringe is sufficient to fill the urethra.
The syringe volume is 12.5 or 8.5 g, of which 10 g or 6 g are introduced into the urethra during instillation. Never instil more than 1 syringe.

Hypersensitivity to any one of the components of the preparation, severe bradyarrhythmia; do not press into the urethra after a failed catheterisation (possibly apply to the instrument or draw off the urine suprapubically).
Pregnancy and lactation
Application during pregnancy and lactation is possible.

Special Warnings for Safe Application
In patients with severe bradyarrhythmia or under anaesthesia a lubricant without lidocaine must be used.
